My other sites:
Some explanation:
My story started out in book form and was then converted across to a computer. Later it was changed again to a CD Rom and then a second CD Rom was added. About this time I started out with a web site, using Tripod as a program. This was quite involved is setting up but as I had never done this before, it did not present a lot of worry. As time progressed the site filled and, as it had a restricted size, so another was opened and linked to the first. This in time involved to about eight sites all linked, and was quite large and difficult to work with. There were many points that came up around this time. There were intrusive adds and a lot of restrictions. Photos had to be reduced to about 70 kb. Pages also could only hold so much, and uploading photos and information was time consuming to say the least.
I then decided to change over to Synthasite as my web site. This allowed photos up to 5 Megs, so down sizing was a thing of the past. There was also no adds and no restrictions on size. I could also have as many sites as I wanted, again no restrictions. So I started this site, which is always being updated. The ease and speed of working with Synthasite won me over very quickly and so I decided to copy my two CD's onto the web as well.
I then wrote up another site for the Vietnam Veterans Museum, and last but by no means least I have started to copy my original Tripod site across as well. This is a massive project and has been made into four linked sites, as the photos are running into many hundreds. Unfortunately there is some double up on photo's and text , but deleting the repeats more or less destroyed the flow so they have been in some cases left as they are.

The Cross at Long Tan

Please have a look at this site, www.dave-sabben.com/
This site shows a power point display of the Long Tan Battle.
David Sabben, an officer in the Long Tan Battle has also written some books on the Vietnam conflict.
His address to the Frankston RSL was inspiring.
This is a must visit site, that will bring the battle into perspective.
You can download the PowerPoint display from his site
